This will be short, sorta a sequel to the last one...
In this discussion, I will talk about how Frozen, My Little Pony, and Minions prove to be the same thing! Ok, so no, they aren't really the same thing. Each movie/show has a different plot, characters ect. But the reasons they became popular can put some insight into the state of the net. How did they become so huge? Among other things, it all has to do with jumping on the bandwagon. You know what? I'd say even FNaF falls into this category.
Frozen. This was a movie that I may have actually liked. MAY HAVE. Why do I hate Frozen? First of all, Elsa's voice actor is a terrible, terrible singer. Second, BECAUSE FROZEN IS FUCKING EVERYWHERE. MLP. Its a terrible show that I never would have liked but probably never would have cared to write about. Why do I hate MLP? First of all, the animation is terrible, the story is terrible, and the characters are so damned annoying. Second, BECAUSE MLP IS FUCKING EVERYWHERE. Minions. It is a pandering, annoying film that would have been enjoyable if there were no minions in it. Why do I hate minions? First of all, it is just a cheap, shameless cash-grab that raped the amazing movie that was Despicable Me. Second, BECAUSE MINIONS ARE FUCKING EVERYWHERE. These three shows/movies are absolutely everywhere. They have become so over-popularized when they have no substance behind it. This is because they were all band wagons. Internet goers see what is popular and like it just because it is popular.
Frozen became a bandwagon because it was an ok movie in a year of terrible animated films. Minions became a bandwagon because it was kinda cute and a total cash-grab. MLP is a bandwagon mostly thanks to deviantart. I am NOT saying that there aren't people who seriously like this stuff, but this is a real thing. And you could argue that Minecraft and Steven Universe are both bandwagons as well. I could agree, except Minecraft and Steven Universe have substance to them. Minecraft is a game with endless possibilities. Steven Universe has the most intriguing narrative, the most beautiful art, and the most likeable characters of any animated anything I've ever seen!
